Cradle of Filth confirmed to play at Godiva Festival 2018!

Godiva Festival confirms Cradle of Filth to headline Rock Tent! Godiva Festival organisers have confirmed the notorious extreme metal band, Cradle of Filth, will headline its Rock Tent on Friday 31 August. Cradle of Filth will be bringing a dosage of heavy metal to Godiva Festival. They are best known for their tracks ‘Her Ghost in the Fog’ and ’Nymphetamine’ and will be bringing their eclectic mix of theatrical gothic/horror-infused fashion, make-up and heavy metal to Godiva Festival’s stage. The band have been active since 1991, releasing twelve studio albums, the latest of which, ‘Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness of Decay’ was released in 2017. They have also recently performed at Donington Park as part of the Download Festival in June, which was the culmination of a full world tour for the band and despite having played close to a hundred shows as part of this tour, they are very much looking forward to performing at this year’s Godiva festival. Vocalist, Dani Filth, had this to say about being an integral part at the event: “It is an honour that we will be performing at this year’s Godiva, which is a great idea for a festival, free and full of a variety of different styles of music to cater for everyone. There should definitely be more festivals like this! We will be playing a set composed of material from right across our extensive back catalogue and assuredly, the night will be a great one, full of magical black metal spectacle and mayhem." Also confirmed for the Rock Tent are Redline, a Birmingham-based hard rock and heavy metal band which formed in 2006. They are best known for their song ‘King Of The Mountain’, which has become the soundtrack to the Isle of Man TT Motorcycle Races. Lee House, Events Manager at Coventry City Council, said: “We’re really pleased to be able to confirm our Rock Tent lineup. Godiva Festival has always catered to a wide variety of different tastes and genres, and we’re glad we can continue that trend this year.” Godiva Calling winners, DUF, Black Water Fiend and The Unresolved, are also scheduled to perform within the Rock Tent, showcasing Coventry and Warwickshire’s home-grown talent. Godiva Festival 2018 will take place from 31 August – 2 September in the city’s War Memorial Park and continues to be the biggest free family music festival in the UK, with last year’s event attracting 179,000 visits. Coventry Godiva Festival is brought to you by Coventry City Council, in association with Free Radio and Jaguar Land Rover and supported by Coventry UK City of Culture 2021, Coventry University, Fargo and BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.
