Yes. Guess I can consider myself a goth.

But I don't judge people from their clothing style etc.

I do, am one, my best mate is one. One of my workmates asked about it and the theory we're all depressed and obsessed with death, replied that as am a nurse preoccupation with death prob not helpful, and if I was depressed I'd prob be happy- confused the hell out of him. Love the music, the image, and the fact that they tend to be less judgemental.

im totally goth, i just hate it when people dont understand that it's not just a clothing style, you cant just become goth overnight. alot of my friends came to school in cheap ass tripp pants and some shitty black shirt with some stupid logo on it. being gothic is a lifestyle, and just because your wearing the clothes doesnt make you goth, in fact it makes you look like an idiot.but, you can wear whatever clothes you want, you could look like a total prep, and still have the mentallity of a goth but, i love the looks i get out in public when wearing the full make-up and my trench coat.lol.

Yeah, I agree, being goth means just having the mentality of a goth, and not listening to goth (metal) music or to wear goth clothes.
And yes, the looks of the people are funny, even if I only wear simply black clothes and have long hair, without any make-up. It's even funnier if they don't know what a satanist is, but think that you're one, and get scared of you.

What's funny about me is I'm pretty lazy. I used to wear the make-up and the clothes everyday. But I can't find the eyeliner I have used for so long and the other ones I buy really suck [they just don't spread the same and the fucking flake off..]. So sometimes I wear "normal" clothes but I don't exactly care about that because I know who I am and don't see why I have to let everyone know that I'm a goth. So nowadays I hardly ever wear make-up at all and some of my friends think it's weird that I don't look the same way that I did in high school. But after a while you just don't give a shit and get lazy, sometimes too lazy but o well. The only thing I miss from looking the way I did everyday was the stares and the looks of cowering in my presence because I thought that shit was hilarious lol.

dude, all goth is...is a mentality, a lifestyle. the way i see it, the only thing that really defines a goth is the sad realization that the world in general is fucked up, and void of humanity. in most cases thats where you get the depressed goth, but me, and most of you guys i'de imagine, have resolved ourselves to that fact. the clothes dont mean shit. really, most gothic people, you dont even know are gothic, until you get to know them. i dont happen to be one of those people.lol. but i have started to give alot less of a shit. i look normal half the time.

Can one of you people above, that mentioned that you are goth, tell me what Goth is? There is history behind each urban culture.
So if you actually think you're not doing it for the clothes, make-up etc. Tell me what goth is.
Ah, don't tell me it's a way of life, or the music you listen to.

I haven't any problems with goths. They're like any other "type" of people. Most are good some are bad. I've run into some goths at shows that were kind of prickish, but I've seen just as many non goths being prickish too. I like some of the music, I respect their lifestyle. I am not into the clothing style for my ownself (I just don't feel comfortable dressing that way) though I do like seeing others who wear it, especially goth chicks. The way I see it, if you feel comfortable and are true to yourself, that's all that truely matters no matter what "type" of person you are.
